Taxpayer-funded Bible Courses in GA Public School [Jan. 12th, 2007|10:37 pm]
BorderPagans Discussion Group LiveJournal
From the Board of Education meeting minutes:

CI - Georgia Performance Standards for the Literature and History of the Old Testament Era and the Literature and History of the New Testament Era

Last year the General Assembly enacted legislation requiring the State Board of Education to provide for the offering of state-funded, elective high school courses in History and Literature of the Old Testament Era and the History and Literature of the New Testament Era. The law also required that the Board act on this legislation no later than February 1, 2007.

How did this get through the General Assembly without some serious press?

Back up. How did this get through the General Assembly?

Senate Bill 79

Just a quick reminder that Tuesday night's topic is Tarot.

If you have a deck, be sure to bring it with you. If you don't have one, don't despair, there will be a few extras that can be borrowed.

Edit: If you have an extra deck to share, please bring it.

BorderPagans Discussion Group LiveJournal

Since Deb has asked me to talk about runes in two weeks, I'd thought I'd find out what people are interested in hearing about.  So here's your chance to make it interesting, otherwise I can promise you that it will be boring and dull.

Due to post DragonCon fatigue, the 9/5 meeting will skip the
formal discussion in the Border’s store, and proceed
straight to the Marietta Diner for food & informal
discussion. We will meet at the Diner around 8pm. I will be
at Borders for a short time to catch anyone who didn’t see

BorderPagans Discussion Group LiveJournal

Apologies for the cross-posting!

Southeastern Hellenes, a southeastern based Hellenic networking organization, cordially
invites you to attend one of our monthly meetups in the Atlanta-area.

These meetups function for not only a place for a meet-and-greet, but also for discussion
on a range of topics, often specific to Hellenismos (Ancient Greek religion), but
not always.

You do NOT have to be a Hellenic Polytheist to attend the meetups, in fact we welcome
anyone who may either have questions about the religion or is curious about us to
come as well.

The next date for meetup is:
September 12th, 2006

Until further notice, we will be holding them on the second Tuesday of every month
at 8:00 PM in the cafe of the East Cobb Borders bookstore.

Here is the store's website:

And here is the store's address:
The Avenue East Cobb
Building C, Suite 700
Marietta, GA 30062
Phone: 770.565.0947
Fax: 770.565.0948

The store is open until 11:00 PM, so we can stay at least as long as that. :)

We look forward to seeing anyone who is able to make it out!
